For over 70 years, the Normandy Volunteer Fire Department has stood ready — responding to emergencies, preventing disasters, and protecting the families who call this community home.
From structure fires to medical emergencies, wildland incidents to community education — our trained volunteers respond to whatever Normandy needs, around the clock.
Rapid deployment to residential and commercial fires with full PPE, aerial apparatus, and coordinated incident command for safe, effective suppression.
Certified EMTs and paramedics provide advanced life support, first response, and patient transport coordination for critical medical situations.
Specialized training for brush fires, vehicle extrication, and hazardous material incidents across Rutherford County's rural and suburban terrain.
Proactive code enforcement, commercial and residential fire inspections, and safety plan reviews to stop disasters before they start.
Free fire safety workshops, CPR training, smoke detector installations, and youth programs — because an informed community is a safe community.
Trained K-9 and foot search teams, technical rescue capabilities, and coordination with county EMS for missing persons and disaster response.
The Normandy Volunteer Fire Department was founded in 1952 by a group of residents who believed that every community deserves a reliable, professional emergency response — regardless of size. What began as a handful of volunteers with a single truck has grown into one of Rutherford County's most trusted public safety organizations.
Today, our department is staffed entirely by volunteers — teachers, farmers, tradespeople, and retirees — who train consistently and respond whenever the alarm sounds. We operate five apparatus, maintain a dedicated training facility, and hold accreditation through the State of Tennessee's fire service certification program.
Our commitment extends beyond emergency calls. We conduct annual safety surveys for every residential and commercial property in our response district, run free smoke alarm installation events each October, and partner with local schools on youth fire safety programs.
Whether you're looking for a career in emergency services or a meaningful way to give back, Normandy Volunteer Fire Department welcomes dedicated individuals from all backgrounds. No prior experience is required — we provide comprehensive training.
